# Going Deeper

Welcome to the advanced Libre user section! Congrats on finishing level 1.

1. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to borrow against your Bitcoin.</mark>

Libre's primary function is to allow you to borrow against your Bitcoin collateral. You can deposit Bitcoin into a vault and borrow USDT against it at a variable rate that moves with how much of the pool is lent out. This process is fully transparent and your Bitcoin remains untouched in your vault until you repay your loan or a liquidation occurs. Visit <https://defi.libre.org/borrow> to create a vault and start borrowing.

2. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to provide liquidity and earn yield.</mark>

As a liquidity provider, you can deposit USDT into lending pools and earn a predictable yield. The rate is set by demand rather than by term: borrowers pay about 3% when the pool is idle, 9% when it is 80% lent out, and up to 20% when fully drawn, and your yield is that rate times the share of the pool actually on loan. The older fixed-term pools are closed to new deposits and withdrawal-only. All loans are backed by Bitcoin collateral, ensuring security for your funds. Visit <https://defi.libre.org/lend> to start providing liquidity.

3. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to optimize staking rewards.</mark>

Staking your LIBRE earns rewards - the rewards are higher the earlier you stake, and the longer you stake. You can get LIBRE using <https://defi.libre.org/swap> or in the Bitcoin Libre mobile app. Then you can stake by going to <https://defi.libre.org/wallet> and clicking the "New Stake" button. Compare the rewards for staking to the rewards for farming liquidity rewards which require no time lockup. See also: [Staking](https://gitlab.com/libre-chain/libre-chain-gitbook/-/tree/main/earn/staking.md)

4. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to build or integrate Libre.</mark>

Libre is easy to integrate with a few short lines of code for authentication and payments. See the [Libre Developer Tools](https://gitlab.com/libre-chain/libre-chain-gitbook/-/tree/main/the-libre-platform/building-on-libre/libre-developer-tools.md) section of this site.

5. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to set up a Libre validator node.</mark>

Libre validators run the network, securing transactions and maintaining the blockchain. To learn more about becoming a validator, please see [Become a Validator](https://gitlab.com/libre-chain/libre-chain-gitbook/-/tree/main/earn/become-a-validator.md).

6. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to earn LIBRE by participating in governance.</mark>

Another way to earn LIBRE is by participating in Libre governance. Libre has a governance system where validators vote on proposals. To participate in governance, you must stake your LIBRE. See also [Governance](/libre-docs/advanced-features/governance/dao.md).

7. <mark style="background-color:orange;">How to create multiple accounts on Libre.</mark>

You can use the [Anchor Wallet](https://gitlab.com/libre-chain/libre-chain-gitbook/-/tree/main/accounts-and-wallets/anchor-wallet/README.md) on Mac, Windows, or Linux to generate your own keys and create accounts on Libre. See the following section of this site for more details: [Creating Multiple Accounts](https://gitlab.com/libre-chain/libre-chain-gitbook/-/tree/main/accounts-and-wallets/creating-multiple-accounts.md).

8. <mark style="background-color:orange;">Understanding liquidation protection.</mark>

Libre's liquidation system is designed to be fair and transparent. When your loan reaches 70% Loan-to-Value (LTV), it enters a pre-warning state. At 80% LTV, you have a 72-hour window to either add more Bitcoin collateral or pay down your loan before liquidation occurs — and clearing that timer means getting back below **70%**, not merely under 80%. This system ensures you never face sudden liquidations during off-hours or market volatility.

9. <mark style="background-color:orange;">Libre Referrals</mark>

Libre is the first blockchain to build on-chain referrals where each account has a parent account. The parent account will earn a [bonus % of the rewards](https://gitlab.com/libre-chain/libre-chain-gitbook/-/tree/main/earn/on-chain-referrals.md) when a Libre user earns LIBRE or when they earn SATS from spinning the wheel in Bitcoin Libre. Your username is your referral code and there is a special link you can use in Bitcoin Libre to refer others to the mobile app.
